WHO ARE  BLOOMFIELDCITIZENS.ORG?
We are a nonpartisan, citizen-run organization working to create A Better Bloomfield for all of us. The Niagara Water Bottling announcement spurred a number of residents to form BloomfieldCitizens.org. This local issue quickly went state-wide and led to the formation of SaveOurWaterCT.org. That campaign works to educate the public on water security issues, to limit the expansion of the water bottling industry, and ensure it is subject to appropriate environmental regulations.
 
A second campaign was created to focus on improving our local government, to ensure that it functions in a fiscally responsible and professional manner.  We attend council meetings and offer public comment. We are members of and participate on town committees, boards, PTO’s and other community organizations. We are seniors, we are millennials. We are all ages. We are diverse, but singular in working to advance a town government that is open, transparent, inclusive, and responsive to all of its citizens. It's our civic responsibility!  And you know what? Our town government is beginning to listen. Meeting agendas are now available to increase transparency and based on our input, the town is developing a tax abatement policy with guidelines for use.
